Comfortable & Private
You'll be examined in a comfortable, private space. You'll remain in your underwear throughout the examination.
Head-to-Toe Examination
A full head-to-toe examination is performed using dermatoscopy, with additional focus on any areas of concern you'd like checked.
Photography & Consent
Any photos taken under dermatoscopy are with your consent and used confidentially for tracking and logging skin lesions of concern.
Review & Plan
Your clinician will review photos with you and discuss a recommended management plan. This may include topical treatment, monitoring, or a surgical recommendation.

No. Our skin services are available to everyone, not just enrolled Wellspring patients. Enrolled patients receive a discounted rate. Full skin checks start at $156 (enrolled) or $188 (casual), and spot checks at $71 (enrolled) or $115 (casual).
Your clinician will review any findings with you and discuss a management plan. Depending on the assessment, this may involve topical treatment, a monitoring plan with follow-up photography, or a surgical recommendation. Most surgical procedures are performed on-site in our surgical suite, and all skin samples are sent for histology to confirm diagnosis.
Surgical pricing is competitive and determined at the time of assessment, based on the complexity and size of the procedure. We'll discuss costs with you before any surgery so there are no surprises. Post-operative nursing care is included at no extra charge.
If a lesion requires high-complexity surgical removal, or if you'd prefer to see a specialist surgeon, we can arrange a referral. Your care plan is always your choice.
For most New Zealanders, an annual skin check is recommended. If you have a history of skin cancer, a family history of melanoma, fair skin, or many moles, your clinician may recommend more frequent checks. Talk to us about the right schedule for you.
We diagnose and treat the common types of skin cancer, including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma (BCC), and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Our clinicians use dermatoscopy for accurate assessment and track outcomes under SCARD to maintain the highest standards of care.
A mole check is part of a full skin check. During your appointment, your clinician will examine all moles using dermatoscopy, but they'll also assess your entire skin surface for other types of lesions, spots, and changes that may not look like typical moles. If you have a specific mole you're concerned about, mention it at the start of your appointment so it gets extra attention.
Dermatoscopy is a non-invasive examination technique using a specialised magnifying device (dermatoscope) to examine skin lesions in detail. It allows your clinician to see structures beneath the skin surface that aren't visible to the naked eye, improving the accuracy of skin cancer detection.
